Ultimately, even though there is money involved, this is a social league so we are keen to invite people into the league who we know, or at least someone in the league knows.
So playing a game with a current or former player is always a good way for us to see how you would get in with the rest of the crowd - especially as this year there will be bonus points for playing with different people over the season.
So here are strict rules on how to become a member of our elitist league - its not quite Augusta ;)
Former players need not submit a new application. IGSGS is a lifetime membership (unless revoked for heinous crimes like sleeping in the Golfzon toilet or never drinking Soju shots)
Any recommendation for new participants must be made by a Player who has played in the most recent league ("Recommendor"). We do this because we want to ensure the person doing the recommending has shown good playing characteristics (such as completing all games etc)
Ideally its a one for one invite, but that's not to say we won't entertain multiple recommendations in one go :)
Recommendor has to approach the member committee, which is always made up of 3 people from last league (currently Alan Byrne, Danny O'Hagan, Marty Burke) and the League Commissioner (Neil Gardner)
Simple majority decision required (basically you need three "yes" votes)
