The IGSGS Tour (“The Tour”) comprises of 7 Tour Events (“TQE”) that a Tour Player (“Player”) can participate in.
Tour Requirements
Before starting All Tour players must read and play each game in accordance with Game Settings :
Tour Players
There will be a maximum of 48 spots to Players on any given Tour.
Priority is given to previous participants on other seasons
Handicaps
All players must use the system generated handicap. Real world golf handicaps are null and void
Any tour player whose handicap is significantly deteriorated (i.e. increased) out of competition (“sandbagging”) may have a handicap adjustment arbitrarily applied to them for all remaining Tour Qualifying Rounds.
At the end of the regular season, "Rookies" (those players who are new to both screen golf and /or the IGSGS) will have all of their scores calibrated using their most recent handicap (in effect, resubmitting all scores based on their latest handicap) - locally called the "Higgins Rule"
Rookie status will be determined by the Membership Committee
Tour Qualifying Events (‘TQE’)
A Single Season is made up of 7 Tour Qualifying Events, for which each player should complete one Tour Qualifying Round ("TQR").
Each TQE has a mandatory submission window as follows. See submission page for deadlines
Each TQE should be played in sequence wherever possible, but Future TQEs can be played earlier provided that Players have already completed the current due TQE.
Tour Qualifying Rounds ("TQR")
A Tour Qualifying Round (“TQR”) can contain a minimum of 1 up to maximum of 6 players.
Any single player rounds must be witnessed by an out of competition Tour participant or via live broadcast of the Round on the League Facebook page (Although this should only be used in emergency situation, once per season).
The organization of a TQR must be advertised on the Kakao Group chat (or in the HK WhatsApp group chat). Players must not withhold other Tour Players from wanting to participate.
All TQR Scores must be submitted via photographic evidence into the Group chat, within 4 hours of the match completing. This is to avoid any “do overs”.
A results submission from a TQR that was not advertised on the Group chat will be deemed inadmissible.
Any player that does not complete the relevant TQR by the end of the Window, will have a default score of Double Par submitted for the round and will score zero (0) OOM points for that Event.
Points Scoring
Order of Merit (OOM) Points will be awarded at the end of each applicable Tour, based on TQE finishing position, which is calculated on descending Event Net Score.
Net Score = Gross score - ( (0.95 * handicap) rounded down).
Max handicap is 27 (which would give a maximum of 25)
Score adjustment based on Handicap
Event winner will receive OOM points equal to the number of players.
Second place will receive one point less, all the way down to last place who will receive 1 OOM point.
Tied scores at the end of any Event will be awarded the same number of points.
e.g. Two tied players could receive 22 OOM points. Next place player would then receive 20 OOM points.
A single Bonus OOM point will be awarded for any net score which is lower than course par (i.e. must beat your handicap). This bonus point is added after Tour Event finishing position is determined.
The Play Offs
Playoff Rankings is determined by the sum of all OOM points (from Tour Event Rank and Bonus Handicap points combined) earned from all Seven (7) TQE.
Players who are tied on OOM points at the end of the 7 Tour Events will be ranked as follows
Firstly, by number of Tour Events completed. Higher seeding given to those who have completed the most matches.
Secondly, by Average Net Score over all Tour Events. Higher seeding given to those who have the lower Average Net Score.
Depending on the number of tour players, there will be up to 4 playoff brackets.
Positions 1-8 will enter the Cup. Positions 9-16, the Shield. Positions 17 - 24, the Plate and if numbers allow, the Muppet Cup 35 - 32.
Playoff Ranking will determine Qualifying Round opponents. Top ranked playing against bottom ranked (e.g. #1 vs #8, #9 vs. #16).
Higher seeded player has home advantage. Remote or Video link games are only possible if opponent is in HK. Seoul & Suwon games should be played in person where possible, mandatory for A playoffs. (Rule updated 1/2/25 and applies from 2025 season onwards)
Knockout Match Play will also be played on a lowest Net Score after handicap adjustment
Handicap adjustment is 90% of the handicap, rounded to the nearest whole number. This is deducted from the gross, to get the competition net score. Match comparison is then made on the 2 competition net scores and a winner determined. (Rule updated 1/1/24 and applies from 2024 season onwards)
Tied matches are decided on Lowest Gross Back 9 (using unrounded 50% of full handicap including all decimals). Matches still tied, Back 6 (using 1/3 handicap), and back 3 (using 1/6 handicap).
If any player that is unable to start the first match of the playoffs, they will be scratched and all players will shuffle up one place and the next highest finisher will enter the playoffs
If any player that is unable to complete their play off match after playing one game of the playoffs, then their opponent is awarded a walk over. The loser from the previous round will not take their position.
Eclectic Competition
The eclectic competition is the chance to build your best scorecard over 18 holes
For each TQE, a player can ask The Commish to lock in a specific score, measured to par on any hole.
Once the dream scorecard is built, at the end of the season, TQE 7 handicap is applied
If holes remain uncommitted by TQE 7, then TQE 7 scores will be applied.
Once a specific hole is locked in, it cannot be changed, even if a player shoots a lower score on a future round.
